As your child grows, so will their smile. At our practice, we understand that different stages in life require different treatments and focus. Our dentist and team are experienced and skilled to provide your child with exceptional care throughout their childhood. Different ages require different procedures, and to help you better understand what you can expect during your child’s visits, we invite you to review the various procedures below:

  • Erupting baby teeth:

When your child’s baby teeth start erupting, it is important for them to visit the dentist as soon as possible. During these visits, our dentist will ensure that any erupted teeth remain free of decay and that the rest of the teeth are erupting properly.

  • Complete arches of baby teeth:

Once your child has received all of their baby teeth, our dentist will provide dental cleanings very similar to what you, as parents, receive. Our hygienists will polish and floss the teeth, again ensuring that every tooth is health. Our dentist will also monitor your child’s oral growth to ensure that there are no abnormalities that may cause future problems.

  • Acquiring permanent teeth:

Around the ages of 6 and 7, your child should begin to lose their baby teeth and receive their permanent teeth. Our dentist will monitor this process to ensure that there is no crowding. If your child’s back teeth have deep grooves, our dentist may also recommend dental sealants as part of their regular cleanings to prevent cavities.

No matter your child’s age, our dentist can provide your child with skilled and compassionate dental care. We strive to ensure that your child is comfortable and relaxed, that they can feel safe in our office, and that their smile remains healthy and beautiful from day one. For more information, we invite you to call or visit our office.
